Differences between Chinese and American marital views under the value orientation theory——A comparative study based on If You Are the One and Take Me Out

对不同文化背景下人们婚姻、家庭观差异的解读是研究文化差异的重要途径。以霍夫斯泰德的价值维度理论为理论框架,从跨文化交际的角度出发,对比分析中国婚恋真人秀节目《非诚勿扰》和美国婚恋真人秀节目Take me out的内容,探讨不同文化价值体系影响下中、美两国青年的婚姻观及家庭观的差异。

The cultural-bound belief in marriage is a significant window to the probe of cultural differences.Based on Hofstede＇s value orientation theory,qualitative research method is applied,from the cross-cultural angle,to compare and contrast the content of one Chinese reality dating show If You Are the One and one American reality dating show Take Me out.With a thorough analysis of the samples,this study discussed the changes in contempora-ry Chinese and American marriage values.
