摘要
作者对宁波诺丁汉大学校长杨福家院士进行了专访,杨院士认为,博雅教育具有"博"、"雅"、"学生中心"、"鼓励质疑的小班教学"和"丰富的第二课堂"五个要素;在天赋特质的基础上,个体要有追求,要受到好的人生观教育,遇到好的老师,才能更好地成才和培育出领导力;一流大学的标准在于学校能够改变学生的人生,并且能够给予教师足够的自由空间;培育学生广阔国际视野,关键在于给予他们足够的国际化机会,培育学生厚重的传统文化底蕴和爱国心,应在教育中重视中国元素,基础在于构建亲人般的"校—生"关系。
We interviewed academician Yang Fujia, President of The University of Nottingham Ningbo. In Yang's opinion, liberal education consists of following five parts, they are erudition, elegance, student-centeredness, small-size instruction inviting questioning and colorful extra-curricular activi- ties. He also believes that in order to achieve success and improve leadership, students should have, besides talent, pursuit, proper view of life and good teachers, a world-class university is able to change a student's life and gives teachers adequate freedom, the key to helping students form an international vision lies in giving them enough international opportunities, more attention should be paid to Chinese elements in education so as to improve their understanding of traditional culture and cultivate their patriotism, and that all these are based on a intimate school-student relationship.
