An analysis of the frequency and the direction of teacher flow as well as the factors affecting faculty mobility in- dicates that mobility is the innate gene of academic profession and the flow of teachers plays a key role in formation of academic profession, establishment of academic norms, attainment of academic freedom and improvement of the attractiveness of academic profession. It also indicates that the develop- ment of universities has been surprisingly consistent in history.
