许渊冲“三美论”在其英译作品《西厢记》中的体现

Xu Yuanchong's Three Aesthetic Pursuits in His Translated Work of Romance of Western Bower

本文以许渊冲教授提出的文学翻译"三美论"为基础,通过实例较为系统地对比、分析、总结许渊冲所译的《西厢记》和王实甫的《西厢记》原文,认为,许渊冲先生的译本果然精彩纷呈,是其"三美论"的典范,值得广大文学翻译工作者及爱好者借鉴。

This paper aims to study the translation strategies in Prof. Xu Yuanchong's Romance of Western Bower; an English translated version of Xi Xiang Ji based on his theory of the Three Aesthetic Pursuits. Meanwhile, it also systematically compares, analyses and summarizes the translation strategies by making a comparison between the Chinese original work and Xu's English translated work. The paper holds that Prof. Xu Yuanchong's translated version, which dwarfs the others with dazzling attainments, is the model of his theory of the Three Aesthetic Pursuits. Many thought-provoking merits in it are well worth reference for those who are engaged in translation and those who are fond of translation works.
