Kong Shangren could visit Pingyang（now Linfen of Shanxi province）was directly due to the invitation of Liu Qi. Tian Wen was likely to play an intermediary role in it. Kong Shangren accepted the in- vitation out of dual purposes of putting his social value to good use as well as obtaining financial returns. Therefore the poetries and proses written in the trip reflected both his physical and spiritual journey, which was more relaxed but not most pleasant time after his dismissal from office. This experience possessed some typical significance to understanding the life and mentality of shogunate literati.
