云计算时代的数据中心更希望服务器接入的是一个二层网络,而传统的二层网络解决方案已不足以解决互联网新IT对于数据中心网络的需求。以TRILL为代表的一系列专门面向数据中心大二层的解决方案应运而生。

In the age of cloud computing, Data Center expects that all of the Servers could be available to access to a Layer 2 network. However, the traditional L2 network solution cannot meet the requirements of the Internet new IT. Therefore, a series of solutions for the L2 Data Center, represented as TRILL, come into being.
