Specific learning disorder (SLD) is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders with a biological origin manifested by difficulties in the acquisition or use of academic skills. The onset is usually during the years of formal schooling and may occur across the life span with profound and extensive influences. The purpose of this article is to review the prevalence, etiological factors, neuropsychological mechanism, clinical manifestation, diagnosis, differential diaznosis, comorbiditv and treatment of SLD.
