This thesis is undertaken to have an analysis on the conversations in the novel The Kite Runner, based on Jef Verschueren’s Linguistic Adaptation Theory, How did the interlocutors adapt to the three worlds in making linguistic choices？The aim is to confirm that Adaptation Theory has a great explanation power on conversations in novels.
