The Art of Diasporic Narration in Naipaul's Works

奈保尔是一位非常具有代表性的书写流散作家,他的创作题材和叙事艺术等受到了学术界广泛的关注和研究。本文在流散视野下,以奈保尔的具体作品为例,从叙事方式、叙事视点、叙事对象和叙事主题四个方面入手,探讨奈保尔小说的圆形流散结构、边缘观察维度、叙事对象边缘性以及隐性乡愁等叙事艺术,挖掘艺术表象后的丰厚文本意义,指出作家的叙事艺术还原了其流散经历中所遭受的文化迷失和身份追寻心路。

V. S Naipaul is well-known for his works repre- senting diaspora. The topics and themes he has chosen for his works, and the narrative techniques he has adopted have all attracted wide attention and research interest from the academic world. From a diasporic perspective and ci- ting Naipaul＇s specific works,the current article examines Naipaul＇s narrative techniques, narrative point of view, characterization, and themes by focusing on the circular structure of diaspora, marginal observation dimension, nar- rative marginal objects, narrative themes and hidden nos- talgia. It also explores the rich connotation and textual sig- nificance implied by the artistic images, revealing that Naipaul＇s narrative art has captured the author＇s experi- ence of cultural confusion and pursuit of identity.
