我国少数民族语言与现代社会中所普遍应用的语言之间不能直接互通,以及少数民族语言现代性功能不足和发展滞后等特点,制约了少数民族地区民众对现代性的认知,从而形成少数民族地区对现代化的认知鸿沟。认知鸿沟的存在与扩大使少数民族地区在现代化过程中留下诸多不确定性因素,随着这种不确定性因素的不断叠加,正在少数民族地区酝酿着一场巨大的社会风险。因此,对民族语言特性与现代社会风险的问题的提出、发生以及发展进行分析,翼唤起人们对我国少数民族地区现代化问题的反思。
