Yashan Records,because of its repeated compilation and revision during the Ming and Qing Dynasty,have many complications with editions.The book records the historical event in which the Southern Song Dynasty finally toppled in Yashan of Xinhui,Guangdong and ushered in the Yuan Dynasty.Studying the structure of Yashan Records,and analyzing how it reflects historical events,are meaningful topics in the research of local records development history and the understanding of the styles and value of such local records.The information about Yashan Records' editions,punctuations and revisions,chapters and sections framework,its characteristic of serving the main theme by application of styles,in particular its experience of powerful portrayal of the theme of loyalty to the emperor and patrioticism,while at the same time restoring the complexity of history to a certain extent,all make it a set of local records worth learning from in local records compilation of future generations.
