Multi-target regimen consisting of glucocorticoids, mycophenolate mofetil and tacrolimus is one of the biggest advances in the treatment of lupus nephritis in recent years. This article introduces the possible therapeutic mechanisms and clinical efficacy of multi-target regimen in the treatment of lupus nephritis. The author emphasizes specially the patient selection, optimal dosage and timing of mycophenolate mofetil and tacrolimus administration, adequate course of treatment and careful follow-up during the application of multi-target regimen to obtain maximal therapeutic effects and minimal adverse events.
