摘要
自由诗在中国长期被理解成一种打破传统格律、不受拘束的诗体,这很大程度上是一种误解。自由诗受到传统诗律负规则的制约,必须要与规则的诗律区别开;自由诗需要服从内在整体的节奏运动,讲究节奏的持续性;自由诗在题材上有一定的适用范围,适合表现某些持续的、短暂的情感或印象。自由诗的自由是一种虚构,这种虚构同时也歪曲了格律诗的功能和价值。
Free verse has been considered for a long time in China as a poetic form which breaks entirely down tra?ditional meter, and is free from any restraint. But the truth is otherwise. Free verse is restricted by the negative rule of traditional prosody, and has to differentiate itself from regular verse; free verse needs to obey the integral rhythmical movement and depend on rhythmic continuity; free verse has its own particular applicability of subject matter, and it is suitable to express some persistent and transient feeling or emotion. The freedom of free verse is a fiction which also leads to the misinterpretation of function and value of regular verse.
