According to scholars, the cultural celebration called the Nongdong Festival, held annually in China＇s Longzhou County and in parts of Vietnam, is special because of its anthropological characteristic of directly linking humans with the supernatural. The festival is celebrated in China by a branch of the Zhuang ethnic group. While the Zhuang are China＇s largest minority, the members of this specific branch are called ＂Budai.＂ They descended from Luoyue people who lived in southern China and in northern Vietnam during the Qin and Han dynasties.
