Professor Wang's Contribution to the Study of Wa Ethnic Group

王敬骝教授是我国新佤文的创制人之一,是海内外知名的佤文研究的权威专家、权威学者,然而,他的贡献不仅仅只表现在对新佤文的创制、推广和研究方面,而且还突出表现在对佤族历史文化研究等方面。回顾总结王敬骝教授对佤族研究所做出的贡献,对于弘扬他治学严谨、刻苦钻研和不懈追求的精神,提高我国佤族研究水平,促进佤族地区经济社会发展必将产生积极的作用。

Professor Wang Jingliu is one of the creators for China＇s new Wa ethnic written language as well as an internationally renowned Wa ethnic researcher and scholars. However, his contribution not only lies in creation of the Wa scripts, but also remarkably in the Was＇ historical and cultural studies, among others. In review and summary of Professor Wang＇s research of the Wa ethnic people, his strictness, diligence and perseverance will surely play a positive role for upgrade of the scholars＇ study of the ethnic people and foster of local socioeconomic development.
