The Significance of Cultivating Socialist Core Values

从古至今,任何一个成熟的社会都有核心价值观。从封建社会的"三纲五常"、"仁义礼智信"到资本主义社会的"自由、民主、平等、法治"等核心价值观,不管是封建社会,还是资本主义社会的统治者们,在核心价值观的建设上都是高度重视的,而社会主义国家在核心价值观的建设上投入显然很不够,所以党的十八倡导的社会主义核心价值观就显得弥足珍贵、培育社会主义核心价值观的意义就更加非凡。

In all ages any society has mature core values which used to be highly valued by the rulers of the time, such as ＂ three cardinal guides and five virtues＂ and ＂ benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, wisdom, and honesty＂ in the feudal societies, and ＂freedom, democracy, equivalence, legal governance＂ in the capitalist societies, hut with remarkably inadequate input in the socialist countries. Therefore, the socialist core values advocated by the 18th National Congress of CPC are rare and needs to be cultivated with extraordinary significance.
