Objective To study the survival benefit of multidisciplinary care in elderly cancer patients based on the result of com-prehensive geriatric assessment. Methods A comparative study was conducted on 45 elderly patients with cancer admitted to the hospital from September 2013 to September 2014. According to different nursing models, the patients were divided into the study group (23 cases) and control group (22 cases). The control group was given the conventional nursing intervention, and the study group was given multidisciplinary nursing intervention based on the result of geriatric assessment. And the nursing care and inci-dence of adverse reactions of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results The differences in SAS score, SDS score and incidence of total adverse reactions after care between the two groups were statistically significant, P〈0.05. Conclusion For elderly cancer patients, multidisciplinary care based on comprehensive geriatric assessment has significant clinical effect, which can signif-icantly improve the quality of life and psychological status of the patients, enhance the quality of nursing, so it is of high clinical value.
