A Brief History of the Academic Journal of Henan Polytechnic University During 1910—1949 Studies on the Editorial Aesthetic Thoughts

报刊的内容和形式孕育着深刻的编辑思想,体现着编辑的审美理念和审美追求。为廓清民国时期河南理工大学报刊出版繁荣的原因,本文对报刊编辑者和出版者的编辑审美思想进行了全面梳理和考察。归纳得出了编辑者和出版者对期刊功能价值的审美认知,即报刊为学校精神之体现、集中学说之阵地、学术交流之渠道、学术独立之宣示,这些审美认知为学校开拓了一个自由讨论和研究的新局面。

The content and form of journals give birth to profound editing thoughts, and embody editors＇ aesthetic ideas and pursuit. In order to find out the reason of publishing boom of HPU （Henan Polytechnic University） Academic Journal, this paper does a comprehensive study on the editorial aesthetic thoughts of editors and publishers, and finally sums up editors＇ and publishers＇ aesthetic cognition on journals＇ functions, namely, journals embody college spirit, journals can be battleground for different theories, journals work as a channel for academic communication, and journals are declaration of academic independence, which all together have opened up a new ground for free discussion and research at the HPU.
