谈《寒夜》之“寒”

On the coldness in Cold Night

巴金的长篇小说《寒夜》,不同于作者描写大家族命运的"激流三部曲",该小说描写的是一个社会小人物——汪文宣的悲剧。整部小说基调悲凉,人物的命运坎坷,结局悲惨。这不仅因为当时社会环境及社会制度的冷酷无情:寒冷的冬天、寒冷的长夜、黑暗混乱的社会,一个凄冷的《寒夜》更在于人性中的"寒":人性的孤独、人情的冷漠与无情及人与人沟通的缺失。

Ba Jin＇s long novel Cold Night, different from the torrent trilogy which describes the fate of the big family, describes a small social figure Wang Wenxian＇s tragedy.
