译语话语权研究——中医药英译现状与国际化

Discourse Right in Translating Chinese Medicine during its Internationalization

中医理论与西医原理从某种程度上来说,对人体疾病的治疗与身心健康的保持具有异曲同工之效。而"西医科学,中医迷信"的观念已引起中国医学界和译界的高度关注。中医一直不能像西医一样广为国际接受,除了缺乏实验室的数据积累和可验证或推理的科学方法加以论证外,另外一个根本的原因在于,中医药对外传播过程中的英译文未能真正传达自身的医学理念,从而丧失了中医药国际传播的译语话语权。中医药对外传播效果的差强人意并非源于其理据之不足,话语主导权在译文中的丧失乃是造成这一问题的关键所在。

Compared to Western medicine, Chinese medicine, in a sense, owns the pretty much same effect on curing diseases and keeping people healthy. The misconception of Western medicine that is more scientifically superior to Chinese medicine has caught high attention on the part of Chinese medical world and translating cir- cle. Being short of enough experimental data and verifiable or inferential scientific methods, Chinese medicine, unlike Western medicine, has not yet been recognized and accepted by other people outside China. Another rea- son for this is that the English translations of Chinese medicine in going global haven＇ t been able to carry true medical notions to its receivers, thereby losing the discourse right in internationalizing Chinese medicine. Ineffi- ciency of Chinese medicine＇ s international communication is not due to the lack of its effective mechanism but to the loss of a leading discourse right in translating texts
