李鸿章、张之洞等致刘坤一书札五件考释

Kunyi from Li Hongzhang, Zhang Zhidong and Li Wentian A Textual Research and Interpretation of Five Letters to Liu

刘坤一与李鸿章、张之洞是晚清时期的重要疆臣,他们掌控地方社会、经济之大柄,影响中央内政、外交之决策,堪为晚清时期的重要政治人物。刘坤一担任两江总督时期,李鸿章、张之洞、李文田等人与他时有书信往来,且多讨论当时政治、外交诸多事务。湖南图书馆现藏有多件李鸿章、张之洞及李文田等晚清名家致刘坤一的书信。部分书信尚未公开发表,内容隐秘,文献价值重大。笔者选取其中五件进行整理,将此函札标点,并结合相关资料予以考释。这五件书札中,李鸿章、张之洞所写四件信函主要涉及中俄、中法及中日关系,从中可考察刘坤一与他们互动时的基本态度;李文田致刘坤一之书信则涉及李鸿章与刘坤一"全面对抗"时局下的朝政变局。

Liu Kunyi, Li Hongzhang and Zhang Zhidong were important government officials and politicians in the late Qing dynasty. They had great power in local society and economy and had influences on internal and foreign affairs of the central government. When Liu Kunyi was governor of Liangjiang （Jiangsu, Jiangxi and Anhui provinces）, Li Hongzhang, Zhang Zhidong and Li Wentian had correspondence with him, discussing political and diplomatic affairs. Some of these letters are now in the Hunan Library, including several that have not been published before. They are of great historical value. By sorting out five letters, the current author makes punctuation and does a textual research. The four letters from Li Hongzhang and Zhang Zhidong mainly focus on Sino-Russian, Sino-French and Sino-Japanese relations, which reflect Liu Kunyi＇s personal attitude. The letter from Li Wentian to Liu Kunyi discusses government responses during the period of political struggle between Li Hongzhang and Liu Kunyi.
