Objective To investigate the changes and its clinical significance of serum interleukin 10 ( IL-10), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), transforming growth factor (TGF-β1) in senile patients with pneumonia mycoplasma infection. Methods 55 elderly patients with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia were collected as the study group, and 25 healthy people during the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of IL-10, TNF-α and TGF-β1 in the two groups were analyzed by ELISA method. The levels were compared among different stages of those patients. Results ①The indexes during the acute and recovery phase were both higher than those of the control group (P〈0. 05), and the serum levels of TNF-αand TGF-β1 during the acute phase were significantly higher than those during the recovery phase (P〈0. 05), but there was no statistical significance in IL-10 between the acute and recovery phase (P〉0. 05). ② The levels of IL-10, TNF-α and TGF-β1 were higher in the severe group than in the mild group during the acute phase (P〈0. 05). ③The levels of IL-10, TNF-αand TGF-β1 were higher in the severe group than in the mild group during the recovery phase (P〈0. 05). Conclusion The levels of IL-10, TNF-α and TGF-β1 in elder patients with pneumonia mycoplasma infection can reflect the severity of illness and dis-ease remission with a great clinical significance.
