姚木兰是现代作家林语堂经典著作《京华烟云》的女主角,陈芸是清代文人沈复自传作品《浮生六记》的女主人公。二人身上有着许多相似之处:她们都聪慧而有才气,心仪男女平,具有洒脱的生活情趣,性解诙谐,热爱自然,向往平淡质朴的生活,甚至都有过为丈夫纳妾的想法。从林语堂的相关论述中我们可以看到,他在塑造姚木兰这一人物形象时,是受了《浮生六记》相当大的影响的。

There are some similarilies in Yao Mulan who is the heroine of Moment in Peking and Chen Yun who is the her-oine of Six chapters of a floating life .For example ,they are both smart and brilliant yearning for equality between men and women ;they both have the taste of life and sense of humor loving nature and longing for the ordinary and simple life .Even to the extent they both have the idea of concubinaging for husband .It is visible that in the image of the Yao Mulan’s character shaping ,Lin Yutang was considerably influenced by the six chapters of a floating life .
