The value of miRNAs as therapeutic targets and biomarkers has been well established. In this article, the biosynthesis and function of miRNAs were introduced; the roles of miRNAs in disease and cancer were discussed; the researches on the applications of miRNAs in the treatment of diseases and as biomarkers were reviewed.
