70多年前,上海的中外人士在包括中国抗日战争在内的国际反法西斯斗争中互相支持,使这个东方大都市成为国际反法西斯统一战线的一个重要战场。中国人民、上海人民积极参与、支持全球范围的反法西斯斗争,而且以实际行动救助来到上海的各方难民。同时,中国人民、上海人民在艰难困苦之中特别是在全民抗日战争中,也得到了在沪、在华外国友人和全世界人民的支持。研究世界反法西斯统一战线在上海这个大都市的活动及其留给我们的宝贵启示,不仅在国际关系史和二战史研究方面具有重要学术价值,而且对观察当前国际形势具有现实意义,特别是在部分人和国家妄图否定、篡改历史的背景下,这个问题所具有的正视历史、开辟未来的重要现实意义就更显突出。

More than seventy years ago, Shanghai served as an important battlefield in the international anti-Fascism campaign where local citizens and foreign residents formed a united front to resist Japanese aggressors. The Shanghai people participated in the worldwide anti-Fascism campaign and provided sanctuary for those seeking refuge in Shanghai. At those extremely difficult times, Shanghai citizens were supported by foreigners living in Shanghai and China, apart from other forms of international assistance. Research on the united front formed in Shanghai during the anti-Fascism war not only enriches the academic literature on wartime international relations and history but also provides a historical perspective on contemporary international politics. It serves as an important lesson for those who intend to negate, obfuscate, or rewrite human history.
