《史记》不仅对诸多艺术问题广为记载,而且对音乐尤其是吹奏乐器也多有记述。在《史记》里面,司马迁认为音乐是整个文化发展与进步的有机构成部分,其中乐器在中国古代社会中具有独特意义。总体来看,《史记》中主要记载的乐器除了关于音乐的两个专篇外,另外散见的乐器记载达30余种,其中吹奏类乐器有管、籥、篪、箫、竽等。

Historical Records records not only a lot of things about art, but also about wind instruments. In Historical Records, Sima Qian thought that music was an organic part of cultural development and progress, and music instruments had unique signifi？cance in ancient society. In all, besides the music instruments recorded in two main chapters in Historical Records, there are more than thirty kinds of other music instruments mentioned in different parts. Among them, there are wind instruments such as Tube, Yue, Chi, Xiao and Yu.
