从1892年1月N·F·豪伊杰尔抵达,到1938年6月所有传教士被新疆地方政府驱逐离开,瑞典传教团在喀什噶尔及其周边城镇传教和开展社会慈善活动近半个世纪,这也是当时喀什噶尔乃至整个新疆社会政治剧烈动荡的时期。全面梳理瑞典传教团在喀什噶尔期间的活动,有助于从历史的视角窥探19世纪末到20世纪40年代喀什噶尔乃至全疆经济社会发展状况。

From 3anuary, 1892, the moment N. F. Howie Agere arrived, to June, 1938, all the missionaries were expelled hythe local government of Xinjiang. And the Swedish mission began to do missionary work and engage in social charity activities fornearly half a century in Kashi Gar and its surrounding towns. And that period is also the period of social and political turbulencein Kashi Gar and even in Xinjiang. A comprehensive review of activities of Swedish mission in Kashi Gar will help to study thesocial and economic development in Kashi Gar and even in Xinjiang from a historical perspective from the end of nineteenth cen-tury to 1940s.
