在外国影片的译制中,角色名的翻译往往是焦点。一个好的专名翻译,不但可以精准地传达源文化族群的特点,更是能吸引目标族群的注意。但受制于文化背景和受众认知等因素,同一个角色,两岸三地的译者往往会采取不同的策略去翻译,极易引起混乱。以《变形金刚》为例,探讨两岸三地在电影角色专名翻译上的策略差异以及乱象的成因。

Translations involved with movies have engaged academic＇ s attention and interest. An appropriate translation of proper name could perform the features of source cultural group and also attract attention of target cultural group. However, due to the differences of cultural background and audiences＇preference, translators of China Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan would take different strategies and methods to work on the very same English proper names, which easily leads to great confusions. This paper, taking the movie Transformers as an example, illustrates the exact differences of translation strategies and methods among China Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Moreover, it discusses the reasons caused by translation differences.
