Through the ethical interpretation of American politics, Norman Mailer＇ s The Armies of the Night successfully draws an ethical picture of America during Vietnam War period, and thus guides the readers into deeper reflection of American political ethics. Viewing protest and salvation as the major ethical line of the work, this paper explores Mailer＇ s ethical choice and ethical construction when facing the ethical dilemma caused by Vietnam War, and intends to unpack its political ethics from the perspective of ethical literary criticism.
