从《汉书·地理志》体例看郡国沿革

A study on the prefectures' evolution from the historiography of Hanshu Dilizhi

班固撰写《汉书·地理志》,其所据原始资料著录之秦郡数目远不止三十六个,然其泥于三十六之数,于是删减了若干郡目,以自圆其说。司马彪撰写《后汉书·郡国志》,亦知秦郡总数不止三十六,其去南海,进黔中、鄣郡,增秦郡目至三十七,正反映了司马彪的无奈。

The number of Qin prefectures in Bangus ‘Hanshu Dilizhi'(《汉书·地理志》),according to the number of Qin prefectures from the original records,is far more than thirty-six.But he argued rigidly for the number of thirty-six,and delated some prefectures,in order to improve his point of view.Sima Biao wrote‘HouHanShu Jun Guo Zhi'(《后汉书·郡国志》),also knew that the Qin prefectures total was more than thirty-six,thus adding QianZhong(黔中)and ZhangJun(鄣郡),and deducting NanHai(南海),increased the total to thirty-seven.The phenomenon is one of reflections of Sima Biaos frustration.
