哈贝马斯认为后民族国家时代已经来临。主张以宪法爱国主义和普遍人权理论为规范性基础,实现后民族结构理论视域下的集体认同观的建构,意图为现代社会多元文化冲突的解决提供一种可能的路径。但其观点尤其是宪法爱国主义引发了民族主义、共和主义甚至后民族主义者的激烈论争,这有利于促成对哈贝马斯的全面理解。

In response to the legitimation crisis of the nation state in the era of globalization, Habermas has constructed, after criticizing and analyzing the traditional national identity theory, his theory of collective identity from the perspective of post - national structure, by taking constitutional patriotism and the universal human rights theory as its normative basis, so as to provide a possible path to resolve the muhicultural conflicts in modern society. His opinions, however, have triggered intense debates among the nationalism, the republi- canism and even the post- nationalism. The Habermas camp has also made its own response to these doubts and challenges. Instead of destroying Habermas＇ theory, these debates help people think about the nation state and its fate in the era of globalization from the perspective of contrastive study, and are conducive to the com- prehensive understanding of Habermas＇ theory.
