刘咸炘与20世纪二三十年代的明史研究

刘咸炘是中国近代史学史上卓有成就的史学家,他治史重史识与史意,具有强烈的问题意识和独到的学术眼光。刘咸炘在明史研究上提出的有关明代治乱盛衰的重大问题,成为日后明史研究的热点,有些问题至今仍受到明史研究者的关注。在明代理学史领域,刘咸炘编写《明理学文献录》,补修黄宗羲的《明儒学案》,也深入研究了王守仁及阳明后学中的泰州学派。刘咸炘重视考察社会风俗的变迁,深入探讨了山人、游侠、绅衿这三个特殊群体与晚明政治之间的关联,其相关论断对于人们思考晚明社会转型和明朝的兴衰富有启迪意义。

Xianxin Liu was an accomplished historian on the Chinese modern history. He focused on histor ical research, and has a st rong sense of problem and original academic perspective. Xianxin Liu concer ned the major issues of gover nance of the Ming dynasty, become a research hotspot of the Ming in the later time, some problems still concern. In the neo- con f ucia n ism f ield of h ist or y of t he Ming dynasty, Xianxin Liu wrote 'Ming Dynasty Neo-conf ucianism Literat ure Record', completed 'Confucianism in Ming Dynasty' by Zongxi Huang, also had further study of Yang ming Wang andTaizhou school in Yang Ming Hou Xue. Xian xin Liu at t ached g reat importance to the changes of social customs, and further discussed the Shanren, Youxia and Shenq in three special groups and studied the relations between the late Ming dynasty politics, its relative claims for people to think about social transformation in the late Ming dynasty had enlightened signifi cances.
