There are rich ethical implications of environment in ancient Chinese travelogues, which indicates that the har- mony between human and nature is an important value orientation. Ancient Chinese literati always harbor special emotions about natural landscapes. When visiting beautiful rivers and mountains, they not only show unintentionally their ideas of car- ing for nature, protecting the environment and cherishing life, but also pursue the realm of returning to nature, blending in nature together with integrity of man and nature. Ways to show ethical ideas of environment in ancient Chinese travelogues include the following ones as going for the spiritual values of nature, strongly condemning the act of destroying nature and upholding the spirit of integrity of man and nature.
