Experience of cough in pregnancy by Professor HA Xiaolian

哈孝廉教授认为,妊娠咳嗽发病多由素体阴虚,肺阴不足,孕后阴血下聚养胎,因孕重虚,兼以外感而发。治疗时宜治病与安胎并举,治以清热润肺,化痰止咳安胎之法,方用止嗽散加减。药用紫菀、白前、黄芩、苎麻根、清半夏、川贝母等,并结合辨证论治,因时、因人制宜。在治疗的同时,注意饮食清淡、凉润,忌服辛燥酸辣之品,以免耗伤肺阴。

Professor HA Xiaolian believes that pregnant cough is caused by lung-yin asthenia. After pregnancy, blood together in the uterus for child, this made asthenia of pulmonary yin more severely. The treatment is moistening lung, relieving cough and reducing sputum, anti-abortion. Professor HA Xiaolian recommended Zhisousan. The commonly used Chinese medicine is aster, willowleaf swallowwort rhizome, baical skullcap root, root of ramie, prepared Rhizoma Pinellize without adju-vant, fritil- lariae tuber and so on. Detennination of treatment should based on pathogenesis obtained through differentiation of symptoms and signs. Individual and climate should concerned therapy.
