丁竹园,从早期在京津医药界享有盛誉"以医济人"的回族名医成长为"以言济世"为救亡强国而大声呼号的回族志士,他冲破民族畛域,既有济世救亡之坚韧,更有时代熏陶下所迸发出的进步爱国思想。作为少数民族知识分子的代表,他的教育理念丰富了时代内涵,增添了中华民族抗争求索的力量,彰显了爱国信念,为苦难中的回族大众乃至整个中华民族增添了一丝曙光。不离时代、重视品质、关注现实和突破畛域的教育特色是当今改革、发展教育值得借鉴的一笔珍贵财富。

In the early stage,Ding Zhu-yuan was a famous Hui nationality doctor in Beijing-Tianjin medicine circle. Later he became an honest patriot who called upon people to save the nation from destruction and make Chi- na powerful. He broke through national boundary and showed his perseverance to benefit mankind, and strongly and progressively patriotic ideas. As a representative of minority intellectuals, his educational philosophy enriched the connotation of the times, added strength for the Chinese nation＇s resistance and exploration, which reveals his patriotic faith. His educational ideas of keeping close to the times, valuing the qualities, paying attention to the real- ity and breaking through the boundaries are still precious wealth which is worth learning in the present educational reform and development.
