通过相关考古资料、金文资料以及传世文献,发现钟离国先祖绝非子姓比氏,为赢姓;旧址在今山东枣庄峄城,先因周王室东征迁至古州来之西,后因楚国东进淮域再迁至今安徽凤阳、蚌埠市一带;此后,长期为吴的属国,吴亡后为楚所灭,以其地置钟离县。

Through the relevant archaeological data, information and historical documents of bronze, it is might be known that the Zhongli State, whose surname is Ying, originally located in Yi City in Zaozhuan of Shandong. It moved to the west of Zhoulai afterward. Later, the Zhongli State in the west of Zhoulai moved east once again to Fengyang and Bengbu in Anhui as the subordinate state of Wu State during a long time. After the destroy of Wu State, Chu State perished Zhongli State, and made it Zhongli County.
