摘要
教授治学的提法并不科学,如将其解读为"教授应以学术为要务",便是一句正确的废话;若解读为"教授参与学校管理",这也并非是给教授的特权,而是所有教师的一般权利;若解读为"教授只搞学术",则对教授有所压制。教授治学这个命题的核心在"学",应该主要包含学风、学科、学术、学习四层含义。根据教授的使命,他们应该以育人为先;基于对高深知识的切近性,教授的强项无非是对知识的传承、创新、应用的操弄;根据当前教授的生存环境,他们可以干的事情越来越少,体制机制的掣肘使大部分教授沦落为"叫兽"。在当前"高校去行政化"语境下,"教授治学"的真实意蕴在于:学风、学科、学术、学习均应回归相应的卓越学者治!
"Professors Zhixue" is not a scientific proposition. When interpreted as "professors should take academic research as their major task", it is a correct nonsense; when interpreted as "professors should participate in school management", it is not professors' privilege, but the basic right of all teachers; when interpreted as "professors should be buried only in academic research", it is a kind of suppression on them. The core of this proposition is "xue", the latter part of the Chinese phrase "Zhixue", which mainly contains four components of style of study, discipline, academic, learning. The primary mission of professors is education. Their strengths are in the inheritance, innovation and application of knowledge. In their current living condition, they can do less and less and, restricted by the institutional mechanism, most professors are reduced to "howling beasts" (homophonic with "professor" in Chinese). In the current de-administration of universities, what "Professors Zhixue" truly entails is: preeminent scholars should have all the say in all four above-mentioned aspects.
