王元化“痛诋”《围城》探究

A Philological Study on Wang Yuanhua's “Severe Rebuke”on Fortress Besieged

王元化于1948年发表的《论香粉铺之类》一文中,涉及对《围城》之批评。这既被《围城》作者钱钟书反驳,又在学界存在争议。对此,本文立足于1947年初版的《围城》和1948年发表的《论香粉铺之类》,考镜源流,拂去历史的尘埃,客观地呈现这段艺术对话与交锋,审视"痛诋"的合理与盲点,探讨理性批评的边界,予这段公案以客观评价。

In 1948,just two years after the publication of Qian Zhongshu ’s Fortress Besieged,Wang Yuanhua offered his severe criticism on this novel,while Qian’s response to Wang criticism was released until almost a half century later in the year of 2006. There have been lots of dispute on this case in academic circle.This paper offers a close reading of the earliest 1947 edition of Fortress Besieged,and Wang’s criticizing article ＂On the Powder Shop like＂,analyzes the reason and limitation in Wang’s criticism,in order to give an objective demonstration and fair judgment of this case of literary criticism and dialogue. It will help us to explore the boundary of rational literary criticism.
