Mao Zedong Thoughts:Marxismization of Chinese Traditional Culture

毛泽东思想的本质,并非通常所谓的"中国化的马克思主义"理论,而是马克思主义化了的中国传统文化。毛泽东思想的"基本内核"是中国传统文化,但又不能将其与中国传统文化简单地划等号。只有在以马克思主义基本原理为工具,从文化符号、体系结构、思维方式、价值体系等层面对中国传统文化进行改造之后,中国传统文化才脱胎换骨为符合文化发展内在逻辑的产物——毛泽东思想。

The essence of Mao Zedong Thought, instead of the well-known sinicization of Marxism ap- proach, is the Marxismized Chinese traditional culture. Although its core is the Chinese traditional culture, Mao Zedong Thought is not supposed to be equated with the latter. It is only after the trans- formation of cultural symbols, system structure, mode of thinking and the value system with the toot of Marxism fundamentals could the Chinese traditional culture be distilled to an outcome in conformity with the inner logic of culture development, i.e. Mao Zedong Thoughts.
