Working Bullocks is one of the representative works of Susannah Prichard. It is a product of the de-velopment and enrichment of Australian nationalist literature during the time of the two world wars. In this book, the primitive natural environment in west Australia and the living condition of lumberman after World War I are clearly displayed,as well as the physical and emotional trauma of lumberman. The ecological theory has provided a new approach to study the work. The research of the work will be carried out from three aspects:the personification of the nature, the criticism on anthropocentrism and the reflection on machinery production, revealing the close re-lationship between human and nature and the awe toward nature.
