An Important Milestone of Building China by Law——A Study of the Fourth Plenary Session of the Eighteenth CPC Central Committee

党的十八届四中全会首次以"依法治国"为主题,开启了我国建设法治国家的新时代,提出要准确理解中国特色社会主义法治道路的科学内涵,坚持党的领导,坚持人民主体地位,坚持从中国实际出发,从基本国情出发,古为今用,洋为中用,进一步推进法治理论的创新,丰富其内容,形成中国自己的特色。全会指明了一条完善中国特色社会主义法治制度的道路,明确提出了建设中国特色社会主义法治文化的新目标。

The Fourth Plenary Session of the Eighteenth CPC Central Com mittee, taking the rule of law as the theme for the first time, has opened a new era of the legal construction of our country and put forward to accurately understand the scientific connotation of the socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics that we must adhere to the party ’s leadership, the people ’s democratic position, starting from China ’s actual situation and the basic national conditions and making the past serve the present and foreign things serve China, further promote the innovation of the theory of rule of law, enrich its content and form China ’s own characteristics. The plenary session pointed out a way for perfecting the legal system of socialism with Chinese characteristics and defined the new target of building the socialist culture with Chinese characteristics.
