Industrial structure adjustment wa s the main theme throughout the large -scale Shanxi International Economic Coop eration,Trade and Tourism Week,2001.The quality of foreign investment has been much r aised.Of all the clinched and intended projects,twenty are high tech while seven invo lve tourism and travel with a combined in vest-ment of 169million US dollars,52.1million being contractual capital.The trad e fair garnered 210million US dollars including such exports as metallurgical coke,magne-sium,chemicals and minerals.In the Week,top priority was given to the introdu ction of advance technical know -how,modern gov-ernance and special talents instead of just hardware while special attention paid to those deals and exports that would dovetail with the industrial reorientation.The fair attracted 418traders from 80countries and regions in the world.T hese foreign guests concluded that had th ey not visited Shanxi they could not have possibly known a Shanxi whose cultural herita ge was so profound and whose artifacts were so plenty.
