Ya Xian, a famous poet, moved to Taiwan from Henan when young. Though he is away from home; land, the zhongyuan culture is still a major source of his poetry. Ya Xian＇ s literary enlightenment started from Nanyang. There are a lot of northern images in his poems. Diaspora gives the expression of the zhongyuan culture in Ya Xin＇s poetry a unique writing experience-nostalgia. National suffering is an important theme in Ya Xian＇ s poetry because of the influence of zhongyuan culture. Two different environments also let Ya Xian ponder the complex relationship of tradition and modernity earlier than others.
