Study on Translation Strategies of Greta Young Jiede's English Version of ShangHanLun Explained

杨译《伤寒论》译本主要使用音译与注释结合、直译、用中医概念解释术语、从传递条文医学思想的角度传达中医的文化特质等翻译策略与方法,对翻译中医学以及文化信息的平衡做了积极的尝试;翻译目标和读者决定翻译策略,在传达医学思想的前提下,译本采取了相应的翻译策略;分析译本的翻译策略,特别是音译使用,可为今后中医翻译在医学、文化等方面的传达提供借鉴。

In Greta Young Jiede＇s English version of ShangHan Lun Explained, she mainly used transliteration combined with annotation, literal translation, free translation, delivery of TCM cultural traits from conveying medical thinking in the articles, she was trying to keep the balance between TCM translation and cultural information. Translation strategies rely on the aim of translation and the reader, under the conditions of conveying medical thinking, the version adopted corresponding translation strategies. Analysis of translation strategies, especially the application of transliteration, could provide reference for the delivery of medicine and culture in TCM translation in the future.
