Reasons of the Lapse from Ancient Journalistic Activities to Modern Journalism in China

中国古代的新闻传播活动曾领先于世界,而中国近代的新闻事业却是在外报影响下发展起来的,古代至近代中国新闻事业出现了长达2500年的断层。邸报(《京报》)在封建社会中的垄断地位及其衍生的手抄报行业、自给自足的封建经济制度及其造就的报业生存环境和传统文化阻碍了中国本土新型报刊的兴起。

Ancient China journalism activities led the world once before, but the development of China＇s modernjournalism was influenced by foreign press. That meant a lapse appeared in Chinese journalism for as long as2500 years. The rise of the native new press in China was hindered by Tipao（Peking Gazette） the monopoly pressin the feudal society and its derived transcript service, Chinese self-sufficient feudal economic system, the pressenvironment and traditional culture.
