摘要
采用定性定量结合的方法对性别报道语篇中词汇选择的差异与共性及词汇背后的意识形态进行分析。语料源于美国《读者文摘》,囊括有男性报道24篇及女性报道17篇,借助Ant Conc统计工具对词汇从三个方面进行详细分析:语篇关键词的统计与分析,语篇高频词的统计与分析,及对代表意识形态的词汇和有关句法进行分析。目的在于揭示媒体语篇词汇选择异同及构建两性社会身份的异同,结构话语中的隐性性别主义。分析表明,两性报道语篇中词汇选择既有共性也有差异:共性在于媒体倾向选择构建两性与孩子、配偶和劳动间关系的词汇;差异在于所选词汇构建女性的社会身份异于男性,且女性形象后隐藏着女性作为第二性的性别主义意识形态。
Combined with qualitative and quantitative research methods, the current thesis aims at the differences and similarities in presenting female and male from lexical perspective, and through lexicon related discourse analysis explores the connection between the vocabulary and the dominant gender ideologies of the magazine. The thesis collects 24 texts about man and 17 texts about woman from American magazine Reader's Digest. Target texts are analyzed from three aspects: first, the positive key words and negatives words are tabulated with the help of KeyWord Program of AntConc Tool; second,most frequent nouns are computed by the WordList program of AntConc Tool; third, transitivity analysis is conducted. Data analysis shows that there are differences and similarities in lexical choice. Reports on men and women both tend to use words, such as children, spouse, and business. Female images constructed by target lexicon differ from men' and female were regarded as the second gender which is sealed in discourse.
