metagenome及其衍生术语对应的中文名至今尚不统一。通过厘清metagenome产生历史及其概念发展,对当前中译名的使用情况进行分析,认为该术语中译名定为"宏基因组"是比较合适的。

Chinese translation of metagenome and its related terms has not been unified until now. Based on clarifying the history and the concept of metagenome, and using the tools of etymology, we suggest“宏基因组” as its corresponding Chinese translation.
