Application of content based instruction and task-based language teaching in EGAP class——An empirical study in Shanghai University of TCM

摘要 分析了内容教学法CBI和任务教学法TBLT的含义、理论基础,CBI教学模式的特征和TBLT教学步骤和任务类型。以上海中医药大学学术英语教学改革中实际教学为案例,探讨将两种教学方法综合运用于通用学术英语EGAP课堂教学中的有效途径。 Content-based instruction intends to blend language learning and professional knowledge together while task-based language teaching is a method based on real language materials and centered on tasks. This article aims to analyze the meanings and theoretical basis of CBI and TBLT. Characteristics of CBI and teaching steps and task types of TBLT are also explored. Taking EGAP (English for general academic purpose) teaching reform in Shanghai University of TCM as an example, the writer probed into an effective mode by combining the two teaching methods together.
