再议“咬死猎人的狗”

Study on the Chinese Phrase——“yaosilieren de gou”

短语"咬死猎人的狗"是典型的多义短语。一直以来它被认为是结构关系和语义关系都不同的多义短语,或是理解为"狗咬死了猎人",或是理解为"猎人的狗被咬死了"。但本文认为,人们忽视了多义词"咬死"对句义的影响。"咬死猎人的狗"可以理解为五种含义:(1)狗咬死了猎人;(2)猎人的狗被咬死了;(3)认定了就是猎人的狗;(4)猎人的狗被死死地咬住;(5)狗死死地咬住猎人。

The sentence of“yaosi lieren de gou” （咬死猎人的狗） is typical a polysemy phrase. It has always been considered to be a typical polysemy from different structures and different semantic relations. It is sometime interpreted as “the dog killed the hunter”, and sometime as “the hunter＇s dog was killed” . But this paper thinks that people ignore the influence of polysemy on the sentence. This sen- tence can be understood as five different meanings： （1） the dog killed the hunter; （2） the hunter＇s dog was killed; （3） must be the hunter＇s dog; （4） the hunter＇s dog was bited tightly; （5） the dog bite a hunter tightly.
