In the twenty-first century, one of the most widely discussed terms is cyborg, and many critics, especially feminists have expressed different opinions concerning its implications.Donna Haraway integrates the image of cyborg with philosophy and literary criticism, and connects cyborg with feminism. Based on the theories of Donna Haraway and through the discussion of the image of cyborgs in Angela Carter’s The Passion of New Eve and William Gibson’s Neuromancer, this essay argues that cyborg is a revolutionary image, for it transgresses and deconstructs binary opposites of organism/machine,culture/nature,mind/body,self/other,subj ect/obj ect, etc, and has special significance for feminists.
